The Minutemen and D.Boon were a huge influence on my music, my art and my politics. They also lovingly represented everything that was good & unique about San Pedro. now most people know them from the theme to 'JACKASS'

Last night, i finally saw the documentary WE JAM ECONO. If you like their music you HAVE HAVE HAVE TO. DEFINITE have to situation, baby.

Double Nickels on the Dime

their magnum opus, double LP, its like 43 songs, recorded in less than a week. done mostly '2 track live' in the studio and some of it just plain LIVE.
the title 'double nickels' was a jab at Sammy Hagar's "Can't drive 55" because they thought his music was very 'safe' & commercial. and because Mike Watt's VW Van didn't go much faster than 55 mph...
the album opens on each side with the sound of his van. classic.
