Dangerously Deep - Biting Through

Hi Y'all. (anybody there?)
Thanks for finding me here.
I spent the weekend with Miss Nuxie, and our kids: Santina (17), and James (24)
I took the BoltBus to Portland Friday afternoon. It left from 5th Street Market at 12:30, and arrived at Lloyd Center at about 2:30. Nux worked til 3, she agreed to pick me up at Lloyd Center.
I went to a burger and brew place there at the mall. I had very low expectations of the place, and I sure wasn't disappointed. I ordered the 'northwest burger' because Tillemook Cheese is one of our proudest traditions here in Oregon. and a pilsner.
the beer tasted like windex, but the burger was not terrible.
Nux arrived by 4, and we went to the park around Mount Tabor. Its a volcano in the middle of southeast portland.
She had me drive.
there are several bodies of water, there. reservoirs. they are not covered, which is much nicer for the view, and probably better for all life in the area. The reservoirs in Eugene are covered. maybe we are paranoid of terrorist plots to our water supply? or maybe those reserves at mt tabor are too large. anyway, it was gorgeous. we watched a dude fly his RC drone over the water, secretly hoping that he would crash it. (Nux and I frequently share evil thoughts that would otherwise remain 'best unsaid', if that makes any sense. its not real malice, just the 'mean girl' thoughts we all get sometimes, 'as a joke' ....right?)
but he won us over quickly, testing how high the drone could go, and testing its range in other ways. no accidents. :(
EVIL!
so this is some of the energy that Nux and I share.
I'm going to have to do an extensive evaluation of all that Nux and I share, and what's most important.
obviously, my kids are at the very top of that list.
It looks like I'll be taking the kids to New York for Arnie's movie premiere. I'm not supposed to share any info on it through social media, but I guess I can say, its coming up, right after spring break. also, little tiny minuscule chance of any crossover with my blog here.

Saturday, I drove Nux and santina to wildwood trail in forest park, we took some goofy pictures at the 'witch's castle, but I couldn't really get either of them interested in the audobon preserve there, everybody was too hungry anyways I guess. we got burgers and truffle fries, and we took them to my dad's place, ate lunch with my dad. he's doing ok.
sunday Nux suggested a brunch and I thought she was insane, 'have you ever seen portlandia? its not really a joke. sunday brunch is not safe for humans, only yuppies who love to wait in line, take forever to order their food, take forever to eat it, then probably sit around for much longer than is acceptable.
so we checked JAM on Hawthorne but of course it was a mob scene. so we went to cup and saucer. It was MEH, but it was sunday and very busy, so I didn't have high expectations, the staff was very nice and courteous and efficient, but the food was meh. I could have screwed up by ordering the LUCKY 13 scramble. I didn't expect the eggs and potatoes to be mixed together, and that was my own darn fault.
then I bolted back to eugene, and walked 3 miles back home with my heavy leather jacket and backpack and lheavy hiking boots.
WHEW!
So I'll be in portland again in 2 weeks.
then again for Bikini Kill show at Crystal ballroom, whenever that is, oh! March 23rd, a MONDAY! what in the actual fudge. But Nux's birthday is that week, and she took a couple days off work, so I'll be up there again, then.
BIKINI KILL!
I play bass for Pirate Radio. Our next booked show is not til July 1st, with Teh Slackers (NYC) at Luckey's. July 4th, Pirate Radio is booked to play the Oregon Country Fair construction party.
I consulted the I Ching about my plans to record a solo album, and the I Ching said
K'an / Dangerously Deep
Water follows Water, spilling over any cliff, flowing past all obstacles, no matter the depth or distance, to the Sea.
Deep beneath the earth, he falls into an even deeper chasm.
Perilous.
I may have phrased my question poorly.
I'm off to make more brooms.
today is my day for extra gratitude and doing everything to the max.
