I hope all is well with your world, where ever you're at.  2021 is turning out to be a challenge for lot of us.







There is a spot on Highway 101, north of Florence, called 'The Hobbit Trail'.  It wasn't marked when I first moved to Oregon in 1999, but it is VERY well marked now, and VERY busy.  There is a trail to the ocean there.  I think it didn't used to be 'official', and back then, the trail was not kept well, meandering and ending at a fairly steep drop-off, where a rope was tied to a tree so you could rappel the last few steps down to the sand from the tree line.
There has always been another, less traveled trail on the other side, called the "valley trail".  Its only a one mile loop, but it connects to a campsite.  So this morning I drove out to the coast, and tried the valley trail.  it is not all that stunning, but it was quiet and I was able to skip like a school kid full speed along the path with no other pedestrians.
