leaving for NYC tomorrow, staying in Manhattan.

any tips for non-touristy cool stuff to do while there? we'll be seeing my Dad's play 'Rickhardt' (a modern send-up of Richard III) on Friday in the East Village. I wanted to ride a bike around the island a bit, I've heard the DUMBO neighborhood is pretty awesome. the occasion is a kind of a somber one, I'm traveling there to see the unveilling of my Grandma's headstone.
