A Picture of Dorian Gray
Mar. 6th, 2010 08:49 amHad a fun show at Speakeasy last night, with pals Jason 'the angry cook' and the Campfire Punks. They cover old p rock anthems with country blues acoustic guitar and upright bass- Stiff Little Fingers, the Misfits, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Minor Threat... all with a country twang.
I found that I had pink eye shortly after arriving at the gig... ew.
Soothesayers had lots of pictures taken, they should turn out groovy. My BOSS DS1 distortion pedal seems to have died on me, the switch has gone faulty. We played some of my original tunes: POLYESTER TELEMARKETING and HURT AFTER HURT, but didn't get to INJECTION MOLD or LIGHT AS A FEATHER/STIFF AS A BOARD.
Los Mex Pistols were really loud, and played all instrumental. They didn't stop playing much to banter, and didn't announce any song titles. They played at least one ENNIO MORRICONE number, and I think a surfy banda version of BESAME MUCHO. They played till almost 2.
its always great to see Sean the sound guy, and Christie one of the bartenders an ex co-worker. The two of them play in a band called HAPPY BASTARDS, their last ever show will be 6/15 at WOW Hall with the SUBHUMANS!
