Hen still crowing

Phoebe is making a serious habit of this crowing business, she crows once a minute for 30 minutes at a time, through maybe 5 or 6 cycles like that.

The only relief is to open the coop. The other hen, Ocean, pops right out of the coop, spreading her wings, getting some air, but Phoebe has trouble finding the door to the coop, and she runs up and down inside the coop, trying to get where Ocean is, probably to peck her, but she forgets where the dang door is...

ugh.

hopefully, Phoebe's noises means that she is FINALLY going to lay some eggs...

Soothesayers play a show at THE GUP, 690 Van Buren tonight, with the Latrines, who always put on an explosive show. Haunted House from 7 - 10, then rock show 10 til whenever.

It is getting kind of late in the year for egg laying. Our girls are just finishing up. I'll probably get a few more, but they won't be producing many until spring. I've found that I can get them to quiet down if I go out as soon as the crowing starts and distract them (usually with food).
