I'm back, I got a sore keister, but I rode EFI (every freaking inch) of the ride.
my pal Dr. Ake got hit with a bug that went around the camp- gastro enteritis. She was unf unable to ride the last day, though it was only 60 miles, the finish line is a pretty significant token, I'm sad that she got sick, of course, but at least she was on the ride for 6 of the 7 days. My neighbor in camp was ONLY able to ride the very last day. he was on a plane with 4 other ALC riders, they all got sick- he required 4 quarts of saline solution to get him back to health...
Had a great time, met some wonderful peeps, ate well, got some exercise, naturally. There were some 50 mph headwinds on day 4, that were tough, but I felt like I'd trained hard enough that I shouldn't complain.
Got to finally meet Colin, longtime penpal/zine buddy/musical co-conspirator from Ontario, Canada. Had a nice dinner and party with my Mom, Stepdad and simblings, and my family Nuxie, JP and San. My mom had an art opening: 'Healing and Feeling' or something, but she sold a painting almost immediately! I also saw her new acrylic paintings, a new medium for her- she usually does oils and watercolors. (her Michael Jackson portrait below)

Drove ALL DAY yesterday with Nuxie and the kids and Colin, we stopped in Dunsmuir to marvel at the old cemetery and snap some photos. Had a great dinner in Ashland at PASTA PIATTI and sat near my sister's ex/boyfriend Dave King, Lord of Ashland Shakespeare Fest, though I didn't think he'd recognize me.
The cheese plate had bread, nuts, fruit and olives. Amazingly good....
