RTF Program Closing.

The residential treatment facility where I've been working closed this week. I had worked there on and off for about 8 years. During the month before closing, all the employees fled, and I worked a ton of hours there, including 2 doubles and three overnights in July.

( I went into some dark places during those days )

Things are better for me at the moment. I'm going to be working at a scheumack broom shop, making brooms for the broom chick (https://www.etsy.com/shop/BROOMCHICK) back in Eugene. And I still have my job as a relief counselor at other programs around Eugene.

Right now, I'm feeling very blessed, hanging out in L.A. with family, getting a tattoo and having a few adventures.

The Closing of Garden Place

This is the from letter from the Executive Director:

"What will happen to Garden Place Residence? The residential services end on August 31. Dana and her team are working hard to find appropriate placements for the remaining residents. The goal is to rename the facility "Hickory House" and place a different program at the facility. However that may take some time to define as we work with community partners to identify a scope of work and a sustainable reimbursement model. Stay tuned. . . "






I'm sure at least one of those residents had to be set up in a hotel, rather than be sent back to state hospital..... Kind of a crummy way to end things.
