Saturday, June 6th at Wandering Goat Coffee Company:
ALL AGES!
Once again it's time for a parking lot party like only the Wandering Goat can throw. Starts at 5pm. Willies Weiners slinging dogs, ice bucket cold cheap beer served in the lot, shenanigans shenanigans shenanigans. $3.
The Willies Wieners folks are nucleus of Brain-Ake and the Family Mullet. I play banjo with them, as "Creepy Uncle Banjo' I'm usually not able to make to their practtices lately, but that might change in June.
JP has a picture in a show, and I bugged him about telling me when the opening was, so I could go... but the opening was Memorial Day when S and I were in SF. JP's in Portland all summer, looking for a cheaper place than where he's been. Also that place is a crap hole, nice old historic building, wire mesh elevator in a closet door, (slow as hell) and JP's toilet won't flush, then the seat breaks, then there's no paper (oh wait, that was me.)
The AIDS/Lifecycle ride is happening now, and I'm not in it. But I'd like to do it next year: if you refer to the tag, ALC or something like that. Lots of good memories on the ride, which goes from SF to LA in seven days. agerage 80 miles per day with one day exceeding 120 miles. Theres a good story also about a guy who brought ET in a millk crate the whole way. So Mertz to ALC in 2016, hashtag yolo swag.
I'm kind of seeing someone in town, the last few weeks, but I don't want to get too serious right away. Tonight there is a soft rock AM cover band at Blairally, hipsterville USA. Old Nick's is happening, even when its not happening, its my best friends' bar for gods sake.
My other best friends' bar is the Pint Pot, where 3/5 of the Pirate Radio work. I'll be their bass player on June 14th: for Dr. Know all ages show at the Boreal. Dr. Know will be playing a 21 and over s how at Old Nick's, across the freaking street.

and now there is a new 'Premiere Music Venue' in Eugene called HI FI. WTF
Hugh Cornwell (formerly of THE STRANGLERS) is also playing tomorrow night at Sam Bond's Garage. He puts on a great show, as a power trio, the two times I've seen him. Both those shows were at Luckey's, and they might've been three years apart, I missed his show there with Glen Matlock's band, unf'ly) He plays a few of the stranglers hits like golden brown, but rather tongue-in-cheek and prevents it from becoming a lounge act of itself, meta-recursive
Stranglers on the Pops with Go Buddy Go. Notice Burnel & Cornwell have swapped instruments.
