dream memory
Aug. 24th, 2010 08:14 pmI'm ecstatic that I've been able to recall my dreams for the last few nights in a row...
one this morning, I had a very powerful vacuum cleaner (shut up...) I'm sure there are no Freudian, Gestalt interpretations of that...
El Tumba Muerto is playing at the WOW Hall Rummage Sale this Saturday during the Eugene Celebration. There aren't any super exceptional bands playing the cel this year except for local heroes, Underlings, Touch Force, Mood Area 52 and perennial accordionist Jason Webley.
Later that night, ETM is s'posed to play at a scooter rally (Mods VS Rockers) at a particular venue that I have traditionally been unfond of, Diablo's downtown lounge....
That whole day portends to be a cluster bomb of epic proportions as it includes a Roller Derby bout at the fairgrounds, and Samantha's (possibly her last) Flame Off at Eugene Glass School... I can't help but wonder if the Soothesayers will be called into action with some sort of 'Bat Signal'
El Tumba Muerto plays some leftover Burp Ups and Puddletown Paddys material, but I'm slowly amassing some really good psychobilly stuff, mostly from my beloved Screamin Lord Sutch and the Savages, but also some murder ballads from Nick Cave, Judy Henske, Dave Van Ronk and yes, my own morbid deranged tunes.
Sunday, my father is hosting a shindig at his palatial estate in Portland- partly celebrating the fact that he doesn't have heart disease. This party is the subject of great anxiety for him, I guess, and there is potential for a lot of drama involving his GF's family whom am invited... I'm thinking of bringing a banjo and some harmonicas to further instigate evil.
