heard the wednesday morning DJ on KWVA play "War, what is it good for?" by Edwin Starr this morning. I love that song, especially the D.O.A. version.

This Afghanistan thing is BS. If we didn't get Osama by now, we're probably not going to. Personally, I think its a pity that he might die by natural causes, old age or kidney failure. If he isn't already living on Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas I'm sure there are many soldiers of fortune who would take the Osama hit pro bono purely on principle.
Mean while, the Poshtunes do not want us there, the Taliban don't want us there, Al Qaeda probly isn't even IN Afghanistan anymore so WTF? Are we after their oil? Their poppy fields? Trying to liberate the women there? WHAT? If I was a soldier, I would NOT be motivated for nation-building in Afghanistan.
