I was at SD Comic-con int'l last year and saw Ray Bradbury there, HE IS AWESOME! He had been recovering from a stroke a few weeks earlier, but he has been at EVERY SINGLE SD comic-con EVER! since the very 1st one.
He was BEYOND inpirational, he is an undeniable FORCE of human motivation. An imaginative, loving, energetic, super intelligent being.
I'd met him once before at a writers' group meeting in Torrance, CA. I wasn't a member of the writers group, but Kevin Corson had NO TROUBLE getting me to go. After he spoke, he sat in the kitchen with these, mostly older ladies, well OLD ladies, and me and Kevin, the ladies had their tea and we had a Heineken.
HEINEKIN??? F THAT S!!!
PABST! BLUE ! RIBBON!
Just one. Then he was back in his limo, and off on his way.
If you get a chance to read his poetry, even people that don't LIKE poetry, might really enjoy RB's poems.
He really is a lover of life, and I really HOPE and know that he will reach the age of at least a hundred before leaving us. He is America's greatest living writer, and when I say LIVING, well watch the clip...
