this is my third time doing the AIDS ride from SF to LA in 7 days, on the 1st week in June. 545 miles.

In mid-March, during a kick boxing class at BIG FOOT GYM, I tore a ligament in my knee. I walk ed with crutches for a few days, then used a brace, and last week started physical therapy to help speed my recovery and judge how ready, and how soon I could be ready for the AIDS ride in June.

this evening, I went out on a training ride. I'd just bought a new rain jacket, to use on training rides in the wet eugene weather.

on the way back down Fox Hollow Rd, in the rain and darkness, I hit a rock, got airborne and skidded on my knee, elbow and hip.

I'm lucky to be alive. I'm lucky to be walking right now, and I'm lucky that my new birthday bike doesn't appear to have been harmed.

NOW, I'm almost done with my fundraising. but PLEASE, think about donating to my co-worker Alma Leiva for her participation on the ride. she needs to raise a minimum of $3,000 and so far, has less than $200, and less than 60 days left! if you only give a penny a mile, that $5.45.

Thanks
