I'm dating a Canadian ex-pat, Mindy. After this election, we're talking about moving to Canada (along with half the US population)

had a crap day with the taxi cabbing, but I managed to bill over $300 of RideSource rides from only 2 (short) days last week, after returning from my California trip.

Pirate Radio has a show Sunday, ... I think its for Emily's Birthday, we were going to rehearse at Roadrunner Studios, and I still owe them $100 balance for expensive recording with Davy Jonesers back in August. I wasn't really happy with the recording, nor with the method they used, which assures that they take a long-ass time, and charge by the hour, and get high with my bandmates. but still $100 is $100, and I agreed to pay it, I'm just not in a big hurry to pay it. But Pirate Radio booked rehearsal time there, and Tony used that as a bargain chip to force me to pay up, which is actually fine, I just won't record there again, but the Pirate Radio guys got pissed that Tony was using this as a way to exact payment. So, I said we can just practice at my place, which is great for me, as its free! I will still pay Tony, don't worry.
He charges WAY too much for rehearsal time as well.
but if anything, this has inspired me to get some music happening within the actual confines of Mertz Manor. bring it on.

I managed to get up to Portland to spend some time with both my kids on Sunday, and that was totally awesome. Santina and I went to the Portland Aquarium, then had Sushi with James.

We are the music-makers,
And we are the dreamers of dreams,
Wandering by lone sea-breakers,
And sitting by desolate streams.
World-losers and world-forsakers,
Upon whom the pale moon gleams;
Yet we are the movers and shakers,
Of the world forever, it seems.

With wonderful deathless ditties
We build up the world's great cities,
And out of a fabulous story
We fashion an empire's glory:
One man with a dream, at pleasure,
Shall go forth and conquer a crown;
And three with a new song's measure
Can trample an empire down.

We, in the ages lying
In the buried past of the earth,
Built Nineveh with our sighing,
And Babel itself with our mirth;
And o'erthrew them with prophesying
To the old of the new world's worth;
For each age is a dream that is dying,
Or one that is coming to birth.

Lieberman: Obama 'about perfect' in Cabinet picks

By Pat Eaton-Robb

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman took another step Tuesday toward mending his relationship with Democrats, saying that Barack Obama's actions since winning the presidency have been "just about perfect."

"Everything that President-elect Obama has done since election night has been just about perfect, both in terms of a tone and also in terms of the strength of the names that have either been announced or are being discussed to fill his administration," Lieberman said during a visit to Hartford.

Lieberman, the Democratic nominee for vice president in 2000, was re-elected to the Senate in 2006 as an independent but continues to caucus with Democrats. He supported Republican John McCain's presidential campaign, going as far as to criticize Obama and make a speech at the Republican National Convention.

LIEBERMAN is further to the right than many republicans. If he agrees with everything Obama has done so far, I'm concerned.

The Summers Conundrum

By Mark Ames / The Nation

We all know in the backs of our minds that Barack Obama's incredible victory will eventually be followed by disappointment. But does it have to come so soon, and hit so hard? The answer will be yes, if Lawrence Summers is named treasury secretary in the president-elect's cabinet, as many observers believe will be the case. Summers was one of the key architects of our financial crisis--hiring him to fix the economy makes as much sense as appointing Paul Wolfowitz to oversee the Iraq withdrawal. And when you look at the trail of economic destruction Summers left behind in other crisis-stricken countries who sought his advice in the past, then "terror" might be a more appropriate word than "disappointment."

Puddletown Paddys live on KWVA on Saturday December 6th at 8 pm.

Soothesayers play a wedding at Cozmik Pizza! on December 20th. No word yet how many guests I'm allowed, or if there is a limit. These are some folks that saw us play at Tiny's a few weeks back, and asked us to play Sex Pistols covers at their wedding! I hope we get paid! but if not, at least it will be cool photo op.

JP has a recital at Cozmik Pizza this saturday at 4 pm, I think... Sothesayers probably recording with Chris Ross thru the weekend.
