I'm working at the Schuemack Broom Shop. Proprietor: Thurman Scheumack. Lesser known fact, maybe, is that Thurman was active in a cult in the late 60's/early seventies, (Children of God) recruited for his long pastor lineage, he was in marriage that was arranged for him by the cult, and though mostly loveless, he says by all accounts, they produced three children (all virtuosomusicians and songwriters, btw)
Samantha has worked for the broom shop for many years, now she just handles sales through the etsy site :

I'm working on the winder, and sewing, and have yet to become efficient at 'platting' , that 'woven' looking bit where the handle meets the brush part, did I say that right? Its tough on the hands, and as a guitar/banjo/bass guy, I have to take days off during the week to heal up and recover.
I'm using up the last of my PTO at Sheltercare, and I haven't been accepting shifts offered, unless they were in exactly just the right timing

Pirate Radio played at Jackalope Lounge on Halloween,
Pirate Radio dressed as all the Bill Murrays, Teren was Steve Zissou, Jameson was Venkman from ghostbusters, John Cain as Hunter S Thompson from Where the Buffalo Roam, Cody as Bill Murray from Scrooged , and me as Carl Spackler, the groundskeeper in Caddyshack.

obviously that is NOT US in the photo above.
The Jackalope lounge was packed to the rafters, the drink line was excessively long. My friends Kyra and Jimmy from Roseburg (Singer and Bassist for: I Want the Knife ) made it out to the show and actually stood in that long line, and managed to buy me a beer.
The Critical Shakes opened the night
Pirate Radio played second, and the Brainiax finished the night, (some of them are old ex-band members of mine from the Double Deuce days
then last night, 11/1, Le Petit Mort played a Dia de Los Muertos celebration at a distillery: Deep Woods distillery n Oak Ridge Oregon.

Deep Woods Distillery, Proprietor Mick Garvin. (above)
I'd spoken to Mick about the event, and from what I gathered, we would need to bring our PA and microphones, mic stands, mic cables, the whole deal, so Skot and Maggie and I loaded the gear and drove about 45 east on hiwghway 58
Dirty Sanchez showed up already trashed, but his wife has been stalking him and assaulting him (witnesses have disturbing video that they shared with him) so he was having an awful day... and Charlie Hustle couldn't make it, being super sick,
upon arrival to the ballroom, I was impressed with the old wooden construction, an old Masonic Hall. the crowd was about 30-40 people, a few kids
but
Sanchez did some on-the-fly editing of songs to leave out the many curse words and worse words, for all the family.
but
We got started about ten minutes late ,and missed seeing the first act, a solo harp player, and we only played for 30 minutes instead of 120 minutes.
but
Sanchez lifted his bass and marched with us through the hall to the bar and back, a decision he may have come to regret later.....
Mick was very appreciative of our singular weirdness and individuality, and made certain we'd be compensated, in addition to a few free drinks (which I tipped double for)
As always, thanks for finding me here and thanks for reading.
