Mike is no longer 'Khun Kru', he has been promoted to the rank of "Ajarn". This video shows exactly what we do at the gym. Between 4-10 seconds in the video, you can see the hole in the wall- it's still there... above it is a 'black and white' oil painting by Mike Walrath- you can see it pretty well at 11 seconds.
I REALLY miss training Shotokan with my Sensei- he retired due to a severe heart condition. He was on the Hawaiian Shotokan team, the only team to ever beat the Japanese 'home school' team, albeit many years ago. He also trained us in a Hawaiian fighting style called Lua, which is a very closely guarded system. Unf, we didn't get very far with the Lua before Sensei retired... Their weapons are severely bad ass.
