Mertz and Nux will drive up to Seattle Friday to drop off the 1/2 punk at camp. If anyone can provide any pointers for fun stuff to do in the San Juans, expecially where to rent an ocean kayak for cheap, or good bike trails, please drop a line.

I'm a native Seattleite, and oddly enough, I've only been to the San Juan's once, and it was only to Friday Harbor to go sea kayaking.
I'd say use your Google skills, and you can't go wrong

it was beautiful, but felt 'booji' to me. a lot of retirees and spoiled rich silver spooners. BUT there were also some of the Northwest's best and brightest, geology freaks, biology freaks, sustainable living freaks, motorheads and a (few) tweakers for good measure.
getting around on the islands is kind of a bitch, unless you have a boat. we missed seeing a humpback whale by about an hour.
